Buying Guide for Industrial Floor Scrubbers: Compare Prices Based on The Same Parameters? First, Check The Water Tank Material And Wall Thickness

"Why can the price of floor scrubbers with the same parameters differ by thousands of yuan?"
This is the question customers ask most frequently recently. In fact, in the industrial cleaning equipment industry, behind the "similar appearance and functions" lie too many "invisible costs". Today, we’ll teach you a simple way to tell them apart: check the water tank.
This component, which holds water and accumulates dirt every day, not only accounts for 25% of the total cost of the machine but also directly determines whether your floor scrubber "needs frequent repairs after 3 years" or "remains stable for more than 5 years".
Don’t be fooled by the term "PE material" – the quality of raw materials varies greatly When buying a floor scrubber, salespeople always say, "We use a PE material water tank, which is durable!" But there’s a world of difference between different types of PE materials.
In the industry, PE materials are divided into three types, with prices and quality being "worlds apart":
Recycled material: Made by melting and remolding recycled plastics, it’s the cheapest. However, it’s as brittle as a biscuit, prone to cracking in low winter temperatures, and may leak after half a year of holding hot water or cleaning agents. Replacing a water tank later costs at least a thousand yuan.
Mixed material: A blend of half virgin material and half recycled material, with a medium price. But it has poor toughness, tends to bulge after repeated use with water, and needs repairs after 1-2 years – which is more frustrating than buying a new machine.
Virgin material: Especially imported virgin PE material, which has such good toughness that it "bends without breaking". It’s resistant to corrosion from disinfectants, oily wastewater, etc., and can maintain a tight seal for more than 5 years, basically eliminating worries about water leakage.
Elton has stuck to using imported virgin PE material since the first day it started making floor scrubbers. It’s not that we don’t want to cut costs, but we’ve seen too many customers’ helplessness when production is halted due to water tank leaks – the cost of replacing a water tank plus the loss from downtime is already higher than buying a good machine.
The "weight" of the water tank hides the secret to durability Besides the raw material, there’s an even simpler way to judge: feel the weight of the water tank.
The weight directly reflects the amount of raw material used and the wall thickness. Those lightweight water tanks, which seem "portable", actually cut corners – their wall thickness may be only 4-5mm, and they deform even with a slight bump. In contrast, heavy water tanks use sufficient material and have thicker walls, with durability on a completely different level.
Take our A-6BT model, for example: the single water tank weighs 34KG, with a wall thickness of 8-10mm. What does that mean? If it accidentally hits a forklift or scrapes against a metal frame in the workshop, it will at most leave a white mark, never cracking like a thin-walled water tank. Some customers have reported that their Elton floor scrubbers, after 6 years of use, still have tightly sealed water tanks with only a few scratches and no water leakage at all.
On the other hand, those who buy "lightweight water tanks" to save money may seem to save a few thousand yuan, but end up in a cycle of "repairing the tank – replacing the tank – repairing again" after 3 years, which costs more than buying a good machine in the long run.
When buying a floor scrubber, calculate the "total cost" instead of the "unit price" Choosing a floor scrubber is like buying shoes: a good-looking one is not as good as a durable one, and a cheap one is not as good as a hassle-free one.
Manufacturers that use recycled materials and make thin-walled water tanks aren’t lacking in technology – they just pass the "cost" on to users. They save on raw materials, but make you bear the trouble and losses of later repairs.
Elton insists on using imported virgin PE material and making the water tank wall thickness 8-10mm, even if it’s 10KG heavier than competitors’ products. We do this simply because we want the floor scrubber you buy to work reliably, with fewer breakdowns and less spending.
Next time you pick a floor scrubber, don’t hesitate to ask: "What material is the water tank made of? How much does it weigh?" Behind the answer lies the secret of how long the machine can serve you.
